The choir was founded in 1924, by the late Fred Tomlinson MBE. He took a group of local singers and moulded them into one of the country’s finest male voice choirs, winning many competitions and festivals, including multiple successes at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen.
A glorious past has continued into an exciting present, with some 40 singers now looking forward to many interesting and challenging prospects over the coming months.
2017 saw the choir gain a podium finish at the prestigious Male Voice Choir Festival in Cornwall, where we competed against choirs from across the world. A second appearance at the famous Bridgewater Hall, to support the Hospice Movement, is now planned for 2019, with other projects always jostling for attention in the diary.
