Singer and song writer Rowan Godel, has been described as an “underground folk superstar” and is one of British folk music’s best kept secrets.
Having worked extensively with some of the biggest names in folk today - Oysterband ( duetting with John Jones on Street of Dreams, Spirit of Dust and more ), The Levellers and Ray Cooper (aka Chopper ) - and a member of Oysterband’s "John Jones and the Reluctant Ramblers", among others - she now emerges with her own solo EP and a new live line up, bringing together the incredible talent and musicianship of Benji Kirkpatrick ( Bellowhead, Faustus, The Transports ) and fellow Reluctant Rambler and fiddle player, Tim Cotterell ( Martha Tilston, Nick Burbridge, McDermots Two Hours ).
Rowan is a regular performer at Nettlebed Folk Club, along with Jackie Oates and John Spiers. She has also been awarded finalist and semi finalist positions in the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest for four of her own compositions. She is currently recording her first full album with music producer, Al Scott ( Levellers, Oysterband ), at Metway Studio, Brighton. Rowan is also part of ROUSE, YE WOMEN! - An exciting new folk opera about Mary Macarthur and the women chainmakers, written by Neil Gore and John Kirkpatrick.
