ACCESSIBILITY

We are committed to making sure that Victoria Hall is open and welcoming to all.

The Building

The ground floor of Victoria Hall is fully wheelchair-accessible via the front and side-doors, and the upstairs meeting rooms are accessible via a lift. There is unfortunately no wheelchair access to the balcony. If you are planning to visit Victoria Hall for an event and know that you will be unable to manage the stairs, please contact us in advance, and we will reserve you a space in the auditorium downstairs.

If you require a wheelchair space or have other accessibility needs, we recommend that you call us on 01729 825718 to book tickets, and we will find you the best seats for your requirements. If you’re unable to call during our opening hours, please email us as soon as possible after you book with any seating or accessibility requirements that you may have.

Blue-badge parking is available in the Ashfield car park, directly across the road from Victoria Hall. The car park is pay and display for all users during the day, free after 6pm.

Accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities are available.

An induction loop is available for hearing-aid users, for lectures and spoken-word events only.

Victoria Hall exterior. There is step-free access to the front and box office at the right-hand side of the building, and ramped access to the main hall on the left.

Main Hall/ auditorium. The auditorium has an unraked wooden floor, with step-free external door on the left and access to the bar and toilets on the right.

Relaxed films

We have recently introduced ‘relaxed’ screenings of classic films, on a Wednesday afternoon once a month. These screenings are designed to be suitable for, and celebrating of, audience-members who may enjoy a more relaxed environment, but are very much open to all. We will show the film with subtitles or audio description if requested. You can see our relaxed film schedule here.

Refreshment Gardens

Our Refreshment Gardens have step-free access, and are suitable for wheelchairs, trampers, and walkers.

We pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and we will always try to accommodate the needs of all our hall-users where we possibly can. If there is anything we can do to make Victoria Hall more accessible for your needs, or if you have any queries, please get in touch through our contact page.
