Giggleswick Railway Circle: The Reverend Bearpark Collection

  • Settle Victoria Hall 24 Kirkgate Settle, England, BD24 9DZ United Kingdom (map)

The Reverend Bearpark probably needs no introduction to the people in Settle. Not only is he known for his ministerial work, but he is also an active member of the Friends of the Settle to Carlisle Railway. What I have just learned is that he was something of a railway photographer and Vic Drake has carefully made digital copies of a number of his negatives. Tonight, Vic will be treating us to a selection of those photographs.

Giggleswick Railway Circle (GRC) is a voluntary group that holds regular meetings for anyone interested in railways.

So, if are you interested in….

·         Past, present and future railway operations

·         Locomotives and rolling stock

·         Railway buildings, track and signalling

·         Railway photography

·         A history of railway lines and their communities

… then come along to our meetings.

Normally our meetings are held at 19.30 on the 4th Wednesday monthly, but please check the diary before travelling.

GRC is not a club; all are welcome to the meetings, and there is no subscription or membership needed. Refreshments are included in the admission charge.

£5

Please note, online bookings are subject to a booking fee. Tickets can also be bought by phone on 01729 825718, or in person at our box office. Opening hours are 10am-2pm, Monday-Friday.
