Marketing Assistant (Digital and Physical)
Fixed term (six months, with possible opportunity to extend). Fourteen hours per week (can be made up to full time with cafe work). £15,000-£20,000 pa pro rata, depending on experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career marketing assistant or recent graduate to assist with the marketing and promotion of Settle Victoria Hall, its shows and events, the Refreshment Gardens and Emporium, and our other activities and projects.
Settle Victoria Hall is the world’s oldest Music Hall, a registered charity and social enterprise with an incredibly busy programme of music, theatre, cinema, and community events. Settle Victoria Hall also incorporates Miss Victoria’s Refreshment Gardens, an outdoor café and performance space running April-September, and Miss Victoria’s Emporium, our fundraising charity shop. We are community-led, and passionate about keeping our historic venue alive, thriving, and serving the community of Settle and beyond.
We are looking for someone who really understands who we are and what we do at Victoria Hall, and is as excited as we are to tell the world about this amazing little venue, its historical significance, and the role that it plays, both as an arts venue and a community asset.
You will work within the Victoria Hall and Miss Victoria branding to develop our audience and promote everything we do, including through social media, our website and email newsletter, and through other online and physical platforms. You will also be responsible for obtaining, creating, and ordering physical marketing materials, including flyers, posters, and our what’s on brochure.
You will work as part of a small team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Administration Manager, with a team of volunteers, and you will also work with the Refreshment Gardens and Emporium teams to develop branding and promotional guidelines.
You will be working for Settle Victoria Hall Ltd, a community-led registered charity established to preserve and run the world’s oldest music hall as a space for music, arts, entertainment, and community events. Everything we do, we do to keep this little venue thriving and providing a community asset for everyone, and we work under the principles of welcome and celebration of everyone, without prejudice or favour. If you have any additional access or support needs, we would love to hear from you and discuss how we can help you.
This is a six-month position, beginning asap (although we can be flexible for the right candidate). If successful, there may be an opportunity to extend the contract after six months. Please send a CV and between two and four examples of marketing materials you have produced for for professional, personal, or training purposes to ann.harding@settlevictoriahall.org.uk.
Application deadline Thursday 21 April.
