Rory Gallagher sadly passed away in 1995, but had a huge impact on the world of blues and rock and is recognized as Ireland’s first real ”rock star”, blazing the trail for many major Irish acts to follow on the international stage.
Apart from his reputation as one of the greatest ever exponents of the electric guitar, Rory’s enduring musical legacy has received fresh recognition and attracted a new generation of younger fans over recent years. He was a prolific composer, recording no fewer than fifteen albums of highly original soulful blues and blazing rock material.
On the 21st anniversary of Rory’s sad passing, lead guitarist/vocalist John Angus is keeping Rory’s memory alive with his band "The Rory Story". Headliners at The UK National Rory Gallagher Festival, they perform as a four piece band with Keyboards the Irish Tour show and "the big guns" that Rory fans expect to hear. John respects the work done by Barry Barnes and Sinnerboy who regularly played Settle Victoria Hall keeping Rory's music alive and his band includes Jonny Brutal ex Sinnerboy along with Dave Chipling on Bass and Adam Hutchins on Keys. The show must go on!
Each gig is fresh and exciting! No wigs or fancy dress to be found, just a talented and passionate portrayal of Rory’s music. A must see!
